Loving It: Glassybaby

June 23, 2009

As the 12 year-old son of Glassybaby‘s owner and designer Lee Rhodes put it:  a Glassybaby is physically a small, colored glass cup, candleholder or vase.  But the light of a candle coming through a Glassybaby generates more; it gives warmth to a cold day, a calm token of peace in the busy world.

Glassybabies are beautifully made through a multi-layered glass-blowing process and their color comes from different shaded color rods to produce a mix of opaque, translucent, and deeply colored glasses. This method creates a thick, strong piece of glass that has many functions and uses.

Glassybabies make the perfect gift for bridesmaids, wedding guests, or for yourself after a harrowing planning process.  As they come in an enormous variety of colors, you can even order them to match your wedding theme.

What I love most about this company is their commitment to give to local and nationwide charities, particularly those to benefit people that suffer from cancer.  Buying a beautiful thing for my house never felt so good.
