Yellow and Black

June 22, 2009

Today’s event, sent by Jennifer Skog Photography isn’t a wedding, but it sure could inspire one!  Honestly, if someone threw me a baby shower as chic and tasteful as this one, I’d be over the moon.  What a fun, stylish way to welcome a baby into the world.

Yellow and black has long since been a favorite color combination of mine, as I love a modern, sleek look for any event.  The graphics on the linens also add to the contemporary feel, and are balanced by the delicate flowers and sweet touches of the favors and babycarriage vessels.

The two prints below provided the inspiration for the day.

I love these tables.  Having two long tables as opposed to several round ones really adds to the linear element of the graphic table runners.

I just LOVE how delicate and feminine the centerpieces are.  Always a great way to offset a hard, graphic print.

The bit of bling also lends a feminine touch.

So much color in the food!

One of my favorite elements of this event was this flower purse.  So cute!

The cookie favors were designed after the print that inspired the event.

Thanks again to Jennifer Skog for these adorable photos!

Ooh, I love this wedding! It’s difficult to achieve yellow-and-black without looking bumblebee-ish in the least, and they’ve done it perfectly.

I think this couple would love the Rubie Green Tillinghast bedding!

I totally agree, Rachel…the infusion of the yellow gives it just enough of a “girly” feel to keep it from being too harsh.
