Things we love: Outdoor Weddings

June 12, 2009

There is quite a bit of risk involved when planning an outdoor wedding.  Well…one risk, specifically: the weather.  It’s nearly impossible to gauge exactly what the weather is going to do on any given day.  If you’re considering an outdoor wedding, having a backup plan is always key.

But that’s not the point of this post.  What I think is worth mentioning about outdoor weddings is the financial benefit of having nature’s surroundings being all the décor you need.  If you pick a spot that’s pretty enough, you honestly don’t need to spend a ton of money on flowers and decorations…you can save that for the reception.

The outdoor setting at our wedding venue was really what I loved about it the most.  My husband and I were married under a very old, very mature oak tree, and as you can see below, it was all the flourish we needed.
